Kira Kelly, ASC, is a two-time Emmy-nominated director of photography, renowned for her evocative and compelling visual narratives. Earning her first Emmy nomination in 2017 for Ava DuVernay’s Netflix documentary "13th," and her second in 2020 for an episode of HBO’s "Insecure," Kira's impactful contributions to cinematography have consistently garnered acclaim.

Kira’s recent work includes a collaboration with director, Sydney Freeland, on two exciting projects - the highly-anticipated Netflix feature, "Rez Ball” and on Marvel’s "Echo," a groundbreaking project centered around the first Native American and deaf character in Marvel history. Her other notable contributions also extend to additional photography for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”

Adept at working across a wide array of genres, Kira shot the pilot for the FX series, "Y The Last Man." Based on the acclaimed graphic novel, this post-apocalyptic world not only afforded Kira the opportunity to work in one of her favorite genres, but also to shape the visual language of the series.

In 2020, Kira made history as the first Black woman invited into the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers. Represented by WME, Kira resides in Los Angeles with her family and continues to push boundaries in her field.
